- 다양한 종류의 연마천은 모든 종류의 재료에 대한 미세 연삭 (fine grinding), 거친연마 (coarse polishing), 중간연마 (intermediate polishing), 마무리연마 (final polishing)에 사용된다. 일반 플레이튼용 접착식 (Adhesive)과 마그네틱 플레이튼용으로 금속판 (Rigid) 마크네틱 타입과 유연한 (Flexible) 마그네틱 타입이 있다.
- 연하고 중간-낮은 크기의 냅 (medium-nap) 합성 모직 (flock)으로 다이아몬드 서스펜션 (1 ~ 0.25 μm) 또는 알루미나와 함께 사용한다. 다양한 재료에서 우수한 평탄성을 얻을 수 있다.
